Let Freedom Ring from Stone Mountain Georgia

Stone Mountain was once called Crystal Mountain by some Spanish explorers, and later referred to as Rock Mountain and Rock Fort Mountain. What is the basis for it being a confederate Civil War memorial? There was no major Civil War battle at Stone Mountain. There is no one buried at Stone Mountain that was involved in the Civil War, and none of the men carved on the side of Stone Mountain were from Georgia.
Stone Mountain was once a fork in the road trading post. It was once territory and occupied by the Creek and Cherokee Indians before they were removed by force and sent to Oklahoma during the Trail of Tears removal and disenfranchisement period by the US President Andrew Jackson in 1838.
There are more Indians artifacts and history of native Americans at Stone Mountain than were ever of Confederate soldiers. So, If there is to be a claim made, it should be from the Creek or Cherokee Indians as to what should be on the Mountain.
In our world the good spirits go out and seek to transform the bad forces. Dr. King did not avoid the system of oppression or hatred, he went right to where it was and marched and protested. Dr. King portrait and/or statues' exist in the Georgia State Capitol, US Capitol, and the Nation's Mall, each one of these places once represented oppression, racism, disenfranchisement and legal segregation. So, I ask why cannot Dr. King be on top of Stone Mountain? We have Good and Bad forces everywhere, we do not avoid the bad forces, we stand up and challenge them. Dr. King's Dream was rooted in the American Dream Peace, Justice, Equality, and Freedom.
I believe A Bell on top of Stone Mountain would represent Peace, Justice, Equality, and Freedom. It would symbolize and embody the vision of the Dr. King, that Brotherhood, Peace, Love, Justice, Equality and Freedom are more powerful than racism, hatred, war, and oppression. So, Let Freedom

Every time we recite the National Anthem - Star Spangled Banner, or the Pledge of Allegiance, the voices of liberty and justice sing throughout the land. This cause is a work in progress to establish a more perfect Union. The sonnet by Emma Lazarus' on the Statute of Liberty states “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” So, what do the confederate flag and the Stone Mountain carving have to do with liberty and justice?

Stone Mountain is specifically protected in the Official Code of Georgia 50-3-21, which reads in part: “Any other provision of law notwithstanding, the memorial to the heroes of the Confederate States of America graven upon the face of Stone Mountain shall never be altered, removed, concealed or obscured in any fashion and shall be preserved and protected for all time as a tribute to the bravery and heroism of the citizens of the state who suffered and died in their cause.”
The Stone Mountain Memorial Association, which is a state of Georgia authority, oversees and is responsible for the park.
